The Best Part About Taipei – The People

March 2025. Destination: Taipei, Taiwan.

It’s been another business trip – this time combined with some but insufficient sightseeing. So, I’m definitely looking for more next time.

But let’s come back to my recent experiences and impressions of Taipei, the capital of Taiwan.
It’s is a modern metropolis with Japanese colonial lanes, busy shopping streets and contemporary buildings – though, the friendly people make it a real highlight and what I will remember the most!

Sightseeing spots – just a few of the ones I was able to visit in a single day:

  • Taipei 101 – The 509m-tall, bamboo-shaped skyscraper crowns the city skyline. That’s a must-see destination, which is worth the time and the money – don’t want to reveal more though for this is something you have to discover yourself.
  • Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall – That place is amazing including the National Theater & Concert Hall, the Liberty Square Arch, the surrounding gates and parks
  • Dalongdong Baoan Temple – Visiting a temple – this or another one – is part of getting know better the people, the culture, and some of the traditions.

Cuisine

Wow, the food in Taipei was really yummy.
